FOREWORD
Many years ago, a Pastor introduced me to the Bible. I was just a new Christian at the time and had virtually no understanding of the principles of Biblical interpretation. True, I had been raised in a home hearing some of the basic Bible stories like “Daniel in the Lion’s Den,” but I had no idea as to how to go about reading the Book that I had just been given. The instruction that I was given by this Pastor did not give me the necessary “tools” for good sound Bible study. As a result, I spent years bouncing from “pillar to post” looking at the various denominational perspectives that exist out there in the world of “Christianity.” The necessary “tools” for sound Bible study were not taught there either.
What I found, was and still is, a religious world that is very confused as to what the Bible actually says.
A religious world overrun with denominations all claiming to be “the way, the truth and the light.” A religious world where the faith of many is so discordant and confused that many do not know what to believe. A religious world totally confused as to what the Bible actually does say. A religious world more interested in what their denomination says, (customs and traditions of man), than what the Bible has to offer.
Needless to say, this was a major dilemma for me as I was starting out on the “narrow path.” As I read and studied my Bible over the years, it became apparent that there are Principles of Study
which, when adhered to, bring clarity and focused understanding. These Principles of Study brought Biblical patterns alive, as brush stroke was added to brush stroke, in my understanding of the overall Biblical picture. Experiencing Biblical truths fosters primitive Godliness — the same truths that in the past brought forth the faith of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
As you, the Reader, become acquainted with these Principles of Bible Study, clearly outlined and explained in this book, and allow the Bible to be its own expositor, you will leave “denominational” confusion behind and enter into the world of “Biblical” Christianity.

REVELATION 1:3
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

2 TIMOTHY 3:15
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

You are about to enter the world where the prophetic Book of Daniel speaks. Enjoy the adventure.

Thoughts to Ponder: Who has our Allegiance? … “God’s Way” or “Man’s Way”? 400-401
Conclusion 402

Dear Reader:
Most of the pages in this manuscript have a left and right column. In the left column are the Scripture verses that are the
focus of discussion. Captions are provided to summarize the thought(s) of a verse or verses. The right column provides an
exposition of the verses. The following tools are used:
1. Supporting Scriptures and Bible Definitions;
2. Prophetic Keys explaining “Hermeneutic Rules and Principles;”
3. Definitions from Dictionaries and the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance;
4. Pictures and Illustrations;
5. Maps, Tables, and Charts;
6. Literary quotes and limited comments as required.
The manuscript follows the text of the Book of Daniel as found in the King James Version of the Bible. Chapter and verse
context, continuity, sequencing, and “word picture” alignment in Scripture are the focal point and the foundation of the explanation.
Anything that is underlined in the Scripture verse (of the left column) will have supporting documentation in the
right column.
Patterns exist everywhere in Scripture for our benefit. These Scriptural patterns are “teaching tools” that lead the Bible student
to a fuller understanding of Scriptural meanings. The Bible is always its own expositor. This eliminates the need of
human opinion and speculation. A knowledge of secular history is helpful and necessary in understanding prophecy.
There are several “Introductory” pages before the text of Daniel Chapter 1. These pages give basic, foundational information
for getting started. If some of the material on the introductory pages is difficult to understand, plan to revisit them later.
At the appropriate time, the manuscript will give guidance as to how the “foundational information” and “Prophetic Keys”
are to be applied. In the visions of Daniel, we will constantly review this information. As a result, you will gain a fuller
understanding of how to apply the tools that are necessary to interpret all prophetic Books of the Bible. As much as possible,
open spaces have been left on most pages for your own notes and comments. Many subject areas cannot be fully addressed
in this manuscript. It is hoped that the information provided will encourage each reader to continue his own personal
study of prophetic endtime events.
It is important to remember the following essential points:
1. Read everything in order, from the beginning. Prophecy is an exact science and must be studied in an orderly fashion.
Don’t be tempted to skip around, or to go to the end first. Reading and studying should be done decently and in order,
otherwise one gets only part of the truth, and as a result, future study builds on a weak foundation. The end result is
confusion. (Note: Pages 13-21 will give examples in pages throughout the manuscript. Become familiar with these
examples as they introduce prophetic study tools. Then return to the original reading.)
2. The use of repetition is intentional. God, through Daniel the prophet, uses repetition to emphasize importance. Allow
the repetition to cement concepts into your understanding.
3. Use your own King James Bible along with this manuscript/workbook. Don’t take any outside written word for gospel
truth. Search the Scripture for yourself, and allow the Bible to interpret itself. This will lend to a well developed understanding
of prophecy.
4. Use the tools provided. Prophetic Keys, Glossary, Appendices, Charts, Maps, and Tables are provided for your ease of
study. Use them, and review them often. Learn to become familiar with a Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance.This
concordance is a companion to only the King James Authorized Version of the Bible. Some words in our modern language
have very different meanings from the original Hebrew or Greek words. Do not be afraid to use your concordance
and consider the original meanings of Hebrew and Greek words.
5. The chain link is used where Scriptures link with other Scriptures throughout the Bible. A Prophetic Key will
indicate that a Prophetic Rule is being applied to understand any part of Scripture, whether symbolic or literal.
6. Color has been used to help coordinate some of the structure. Any supporting Scripture that reflects the words of Jesus
are printed in red. Supporting Scripture links, from either Daniel or Revelation are printed in blue.
